Provenance

First tobacco.
Then twine. Now art.

In 1881, New York merchant Arnold Falk raised a double warehouse at 300 Harrisburg Avenue. For generations, the Falk & Rosenbaum Tobacco Warehouse cured Lancaster County leaf beneath its heavy beams. Today those same beams shelter one of Pennsylvania's most distinctive boutique hotels.

1881

Falk & Rosenbaum build the double tobacco warehouse — 64 feet wide, 245 feet deep.

1945

The tobacco era ends; paper, twine, and electronics move through the old walls.

2004

Developers rescue one of only four surviving warehouses from the original eight.

2006

Lancaster Arts Hotel opens — brick intact, floors original, walls hung with local art.
